The personal trainer behind GRIFFIT Outdoor Fitness + Pilates

It’s no accident that Andrew Griffin, the personal trainer behind Sydney’s newest outdoor training business GRIFFIT, wound up in the health and fitness field. As the youngest of 6 children it was survival of the fittest from the get-go.

A talented athlete in his high school years at Sydney’s St Josephs College it was clear that Andrew was unstoppable. From being a nationally ranked tennis player by the age of 18, world junior athletics competitor in long jump and a NSW representative basketballer it seemed Andrew was destined for a career in sports, health and fitness.

It’s these early life experiences coupled with 15 years in the personal training industry that Andrew credits with allowing him to understand the clients that call him daily seeking the guidance to become both fitter, stronger and healthier individuals.

After living, working and breathing the life of tennis in Sydney’s northern beaches, it was a move to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney that prompted Andrew to start his own business focusing solely on outdoor group personal training.

Studying Sport and Exercise Science at UWS, attaining certification from Studio Pilates International and being a certified member of Fitness Australia, Andrew found Centennial Park and Queens Park his business home.

Andrew’s training philosophy centers around creating change; both physically, mentally and emotionally. By creating a physically strong body his membership have the tools to deal with the day to stress that city living can regularly throw at them. He has an innate ability to quickly identify his clients training needs. This ability has allowed him to create long and lasting positive change for his membership.

The GRIFFIT training programs have been developed to blend high intensity training with core, base and stability work. A regular training week moves from Mat Based Pilates to HIIT classes and into running technique. His definition of fitness is building a balanced body in all disciplines of fitness and his programs support that.

On any given day Andrew can be found helping his devoted members to be the best versions of themselves possible, attacking his own health and fitness training, and chasing his 3 young children around Cooper Park… it’s always go go go!
